Recently, however, HelloTalk approached me and asked if I’d be interested in reviewing the app. So I decided this was the perfect excuse to actually try it! It shows others that you’re a serious user who’s involved in the community — someone who doesn’t just consume others’ content but also contributes their own. This in turn helps build trust with people who check out your profile. When you do find yourself without anyone to talk to — either because you’re waiting for a reply, or because you’re taking a break from chatting — don’t waste your time! There are plenty of things you can do in the meantime to build up your HelloTalk presence. This will keep your friends from worrying about you; they’ll understand, and will appreciate your honesty.

Of course that person is different for everyone and depends on your interests. The site has a real sense of community to it, so it could be a good place to start if you’re feeling a little intimidated by the idea of talking to someone you don’t know. italki is mainly an online tutoring site, but there is also a language exchange platform, where members can post that they can help or talk for free in a particular language.
